SolarMind is a product of Cotswold Cleantech Energy Ltd. We’re building intelligence that brings solar generation, home batteries and electric vehicle charging together, helping households make better use of the energy available to them.
Our aim is simple: let people enjoy the benefits of clean energy while the everyday decisions are taken care of.
How it started
Cotswold Cleantech Energy was founded by Ravi, a mechatronics engineer, to bring renewable energy engineering and intelligent software together. Based in Gloucestershire, the company focuses on clean energy systems that can work together as part of a more decentralised energy future.
SolarMind addresses a practical problem at home. Solar panels, batteries and EV chargers are often managed separately, even though each one affects the others. A sunny afternoon, an evening electricity price and tomorrow’s departure time all belong in the same plan.
What we’re building
SolarMind is an AI energy management platform for home solar, battery storage and EV charging. It combines solar forecasts, electricity tariffs and household energy needs to help decide when to use, store, charge or export energy.
The optimisation engine considers the whole home. EV departure times, battery reserves and device limits guide its decisions, while the plan can adapt as conditions change.
We’re working towards support across different equipment brands. Our initial integrations use Home Assistant, with compatibility checked for each household.
Where we are today
Our web platform has soft launched, and we’re working with our first household trials. The focus is on connecting real home energy systems, understanding different setups and refining the experience around everyday use.
We’re inviting UK households with solar panels, battery storage, a smart meter and a dynamic tariff to explore a free trial. Onboarding is arranged individually, so we can confirm compatibility and understand each home’s needs.
Where we’re going
Our next step is to broaden device compatibility and bring SolarMind to more homes. We want to work with installers, energy providers and housing organisations to make intelligent energy management easier to access.
Over time, our ambition is to help connected homes play a more useful role in the wider energy system. Better coordination of solar, batteries and EV charging can support a future with more flexible demand and better use of clean generation.
